The heft of a steel pipe with an outer circumference of 8 inches and 0.5 inches of wall thickness totals to a whopping 10.68 pounds per foot. On the other hand, the burden of owning a plastic pipe with an identical outside diameter would be only 0.49 pounds. What about concrete? Well, it’s roughly 0.66 pounds for the same 8 inch circumference pipe.
